Why Roots ?

‘roots’ concentrates on the basic minimum that a school is expected to deliver. Integrity, Discretion, Expression and Aesthetic sense are the essential faculties that ‘roots’ attempts to inculcate in each student.
‘roots’ recognises the intrinsic worth of each student and appreciates the fact that every human being is unique and is blessed with the capacity to excel provided the grooming is right.
‘roots’ appreciates that parents have entrusted it with the custody of the most precious gift they have received from God,their children.
‘roots’ aims at equipping the students with the tools to master rigorous academic challenges and provide them the insight to discover themselves.
‘roots’ considers itself a partner in the making of the next generation and it believes that its first responsibility is to create in the students an awareness of their responsibility as well as their potential to make their best contribution to their own prosperity which is an integral part of the prosperity of the community.
‘roots’ recognises the intrinsic worth of each student and appreciates the fact that every human being is unique and is blessed with the capacity to excel provided the grooming is right.
Comparing a student’s performance with that of another amounts to no less than humiliation. Instead, each child can be encouraged to compete withhimself/herself.
If we judge the ability of a student by the marks scored in examinations,we would not make a bigger mistake. It is plain common sense that a gold medalist in a university examination doesn’t necessarily succeed in a competitive exam like banking recruitment or the civil service.
Children must be allowed to grow to be self-reliant and autonomous int hought. Most of us,in our anxiety to help the children, keep them dependent forever .We’d better trust their capacity to take care of themselves and give them the freedom of choice while we confine ourselves to the duty of watching them and protecting them when it becomes necessary.
‘roots’ encourages and practices open and regular communication between school and home.
‘roots’ aims at creating such work culture in which students study just for the pleasure of learning and learning alone in a stress-free environment where ‘roots of education are not bitter’.
